Using a Package Leak Detector

The PRESTO® vacuum leak tester can be utilized for various packaging types, from stand-up sachets, packages with modified atmosphere packaging (MAP), rigid trays, vacuum skin packs, thermoform packets, sachets, flow wraps, form fill seal (VFFS) and reclosable packets. Wherever package seal integrity is critical, the vacuum seal tester can be utilized to recognize if there are any shortcomings in the package’s seal, seam or closure before making it to production or your customer.

How the Vacuum Seal Tester Works

The presto® vacuum leak tester and seal consists of a 2 stage vacuum and holding time setting. The box is made of polished transparent PMMA which makes the product very rugged and ensure the highest durability. Through our more efficient design, our leak tester is more reliable than any other leak testers.

Packages requiring testing are placed in the clear acrylic vacuum tank (chamber) of water, the lid is shut and the vacuum engaged. Bubbles can be seen in case of a leak. Once you know check where the leakage is happening you can adjust the jaws, temperature, pressure and dwell time accordingly.
